Dining For Dollars – Tuesday 2/28 – Big Apple!
The BHS Band Foundation is continuing their Dining for Dollars event this February at the Big Apple Sports Palace & Restaurant on February 28th from 7-11 P.M. The business is owned and operated by two generations and has served the city for over 25 years. Vinny and Toni Bottino, current owners of this Bayonne icon, have pledged 15% of every bill as a donation to the BHS Band Foundation.
Dining for Dollars – Wednesday & Thursday – March 14th and 15th – Chris’s Corner!
The BHS Band Foundation’s 4th Dining for Dollars which began in early January. The two-day event will be held on Wednesday March 14th and Thursday March 15th from 3:30-10:00 PM. On the 15th, the BHS Concert band will be performing at the high school for their annual Spring Concert. We encourage the community to enjoy dinner and a show Thursday night by heading over to the Alexander X. O’Conner Auditorium in Bayonne High School and afterwards have dinner at Chris’ Corner. The cast of the show will be present, as well as teachers and parents. Support our children at both venues; patrons just need to mention to the staff at Chris’ Corner they are dining to support the BHS Band Foundation. Owners Philip and Marie Crisonino have pledged 15% of each check to benefit the organization and this donation applies to dine in, pickup and delivery. Stop by and enjoy some fine Italian cuisine at this local landmark!
Fundraisers
We are still collecting ads for the March and May concert journals. Please bring in donations with advertisements to Mr. Puchinsky in the Band Room. We have also begun working with Viridian Energy – our members and fans can join Viridian, save money on their utility bills, help the environment by going green with Viridian, and help support the BHS Band each month – all with Viridian – it’s a WIN – WIN – WIN!
Meetings
The last open public session for the Band Foundation was very poorly attended. The board and staff will be building an action plan to help better publicize meetings and to better communicate with parents, fans, and staff. The next board meeting is set for March 11th, time to be determined for Sunday morning.
